need help with cam selection......
need help with cam selection...... hey my buddy just got his ls1 gto about a week ago and is looking for a cam. he wants a cam with good street manners, good hp/trq gains, and lopy idle. also he wants something that @ least wont take mpg down bye more than 1 or 2mpg?

I love the cam I have in. Tommy has the same one but had different results. who knows. If he is only willing to give up 1-2 mpg then he should look at the chetr cam or even the ls6 cam.
I would get a bigger cam to get that pig moving but thats just me.

besides now hes got torque (last car was a turbo mr2.......)

I'd look at the TR224, it's a whored out cam but there's a reason for it. If he's looking to go bigger, think about the TR230/224 as mentioned or even the Torquer V2 or V3.

Verdad Gallardo tell him to stay away from the loudmouth if he is going longtubes and a cam. it will sound like ****, and be really raspy. Have him look into the magnaflow or hooker, and they are also cheap so thats a plus. They flow very well and sound great with H/C rides. If it isn't loud enough have him put a cutout on.

All the cams listed here are Excellent BUT i think your buddy will think they are TOO big.
Show him what his current cam specs are...then show him wath the G5x4 is.......

I rolled up for a bit and saw the gto, but no one was around, and I was getting annoyed by some guy that wouldn't leave me alone. It was like getting followed by the prelude guy. Tommy and cory wern't there so I left. Next time im up there I will give him a ride.
