Valvetrain Noise After H/c Install I installed LS6 stage 2 heads with PRC springs and torquer 2 cam, with 7.4 IN push rods. I have alot of valvetrain noise anything I can do about it. I know some is normal but when I'm sitting at a light You can realy hear it.
Get a pushrod checker and measure your required pushrod length to get approximately 0.080" - 0.100" lifter preload (assuming you havew stock lifters).

You need a adjustable pushrod that spans the length of interest (approximately 7.4") and then you put the #1 cylinder at TDC and remove the intake rocker. Install the adjustable pushrod and then put the rocker back on loose. Turn the adjustable pushrod so it is loose as well and then tighten your rocker to around 10 lb-ft so it is seated, then adjust the pushrod to just take out the slop. Once you have this measurement, add your desired preload. The adjustable pushrods measure in gage length, so if you take an overall length reading you need to compensate. Comp has a good write-up on the pushrod measuring terms on their web site. Repeat on the exhaust. They should be the same.

k bud, whatever you say man, ive got some crazy lift on my cam, and i have no, again no valvetrain noise. only reason for the sewing machine sound would be that there is some play with the pushrods. except for the sound of the cam itself, and the idle airflow with my fast 90, the car sounds just like stock

nope, not crazy, probably don't have the exact length of pushrod...experts can say what they want, its been my personal experience, with 2 ls1's, that with the exact length of pushrod, there will be no valvetrain noise.

i have had correct length pushrods on both of my setups and the one with the comp 918's made a little bit of noise,noticable noise.The second setup with PP gold duals is very quite,just a hair louder then stock.I thought the duals would be noisier..I think it just depends on your setup,ramp rate,spring style,and rocker setup....
I have no noise either, but am running an adjustable valve train (Crane rockers). They are little louder now, because the Dart heads also use a beehive spring design and before I had the Crane 832 duals. The reason being the beehives are designed such that the lower coils contact each other to remove the mass of that coil from the accelerated mass. Trade-off of the design if you will. But the valve train can be made very quiet with the correct parts, especially pushrods and lifter preload. To be quiet, shoot for at least 0.080" preload.
