Default What else to compliment my heads and cam?

I'm going to be getting heads and a cam here soon (maybe around christmas) and was wondering what else I should get to go with them. Here's what I'm getting...

Thunder Racing 224/224 114 lsa cam
Patriot Performance "stage 2" LS6 heads (64cc and 2.02"/1.57" valves)

Now I'm wanting to replace everything internally that's stock while I'm doing the heads/cam swap like lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, timing chain/cover, pistons, head gaskets, etc. I believe that the Patriot Performance stage 2 heads come equipped with valve springs/locks/retainers, don't they? Also, what else should I get? Thanks.

Underdrive crankshaft pulley? New oil pump? The Patriots can be bought as an assembly w/valves, springs, retainers etc. so you can just bolt em' on.

Pistons? How about the UD pulley, oil pump, and a Fast 90/90 setup? Direct Port juice also sounds good!

First things first though, how about a 12 bolt or 9' rear? I see you intend to put a TC in, you will need one for the optimum use of the heads/cam.

My first vote goes to the TC/Rearend and some DR's!

I have similar things as you listed, I have Patriot LS6 heads, 62cc, 224/228 581/588 cam. I still have stock rear, and you obviously know you need a stall with a cam, but my next move is a 90FAST/90NWTB.

Thanks for the replys guys. But with the heads and cam I'm going to be getting (Thunder Racing 224/224 114 lsa cam & Patriot Performance "stage 2" LS6 heads (64cc and 2.02"/1.57" valves), what other interal parts would you get if going aftermarket?

Lifters:
Pushrods:
Rocker Arms:
Timing Chain/Cover:
Pistons:
Head Gaskets:
Etc:

Please be specific with what brand/part number/size/etc.

Thanks guys.

You should be able to mill your heads a bit for lower compression. Talk with Gunner about trying to get a DCR of at least 8.5:1. for your setup. It will give you a little more up top and a better lowend as well.

I would get your hook-ups out of the way first and work it with the suspension.

I noticed you have a a4.Do you think your tranny will hold?Maybe someone on here with an a4 who has those mods can tell you if the stock tranny can take that power level.I have lt hedders, lid loudmouth,3500stall,nittos and ina couple of days will get my TR224/112lsa cam in.I was gonna do heads too,but did not think my tranny would last long and this is my daily driver,so gonna get a fl tranny first then do heads. Some people have good luck though on the stock tranny maybe someone on here can give you their experience with those mods on the stock tranny.
