Default ? about the G5X3

I have ported stock heads milled .035. I found out that the MS4 will not fit w/ my set of heads. Will I have the same problem with the G5X3. Any suggestions on a different cam w/ my set of heads. I would appreciate the help.

You're most likley not going to be able to run anything in the 230's (assuming you have bigger than stock valves) milled .035 w/o flycutting. Either bite the bullet and cut the pistons or look at something in the mid - low 220's duration wise.

I don't want to flycut the pistons. I already have 918 springs and titanium retainers and pushrods. Will I need to change any valvetrain parts w/ a bigger cam. What motivated me to upgrade my cam was that my buddy has the MS3 and he kills me at the top end. It sounds really nice to. And the other reason is to kick his *** on the hwy.

well a big cam won't work with the 918's anyway.

Give the guys at LGM a call, tell them your setup and they will either tell you how much to flycutt OR tell you what cam you can run without having to flycutt.

Who ever told you that one lied. Its a small hand full of people running the X4 on 918's succesfully....and one of them worked for comp.

I'll agree that 918's CAN be used with a fairly radical cam if everything is set-up properly and you make sure not to exceed their limits.

I'm a big fan of the COMP 918 spring myself.

get a thicker head gasket. stock headgasket with stock heads G5x3 will fit

if you properly shim the 918s they would be fine
