Default what HEADS to buy?

ive got a pretty decent setup. i feel my heads (and headers) are holding me back. i hit 432, but down at 5700!!! drops off bad after that. just not enough air. heads i have now are 4.8L with a stage 2 hand port, stage one done by AMS i believe, then stage 2 done by trevor johnson. stock valves.

what do you guys recomend? its gonna stay stock cubes, and shoot 200-250 on her. trying to build a all out stock cube monster. keeping the current cam probly for now. would also like a small chamber to keep the compression up. im running exactly 11.0:1 right now. i know i wont be able to keep that (58cc) but i dont want to loose too much.

what heads do you guys recomend?

i'm pretty sure that the headers are not holding you back. the SLP headers flow very well, and the short collector promotes better power at high RPMs. most people just don't like SLP headers because they hang so low to the ground, even with stock ride height.

if you get some heads that have a better intake runner design (ie LS6 style heads, or AFRs, etc.), i'm sure that would help you out. larger valves would also help out alot too.

do you know the flow numbers on the heads that you have now?

How can you have a stage 2 head with stock valves? Anyhow IIRC the SLP headers don't flow well at all. I remember seeing something like a 20+rwhp gain on a cammed car switching to kooks or qtp (can't remember).

no dont have any flow numbers.
well thats what i got let down on. they were SUPPOSED to have 2.02/1.60s... found out they didnt just a "stage 2" port. life lesson learned.

yeah i know the SLPs are crap ive seen TOO many slp to XXX header swaps gain 20+ hp.

what do you guys recomend for my situation a all out stock cube juice setup?

if you are in the 43x range right now with the slp headers i would try either the kooks or qtp 1 7/8 since you plan on spraying 200-250 and redyno-tune it and go from there .you willl probably be in the 45x range which is decent numbers.it seems your heads flow well enough,to me anyway.

AFR 205's milled (I'd really talk to Tony to see what he recomends, just give him your goals-you might even need the 225's with that big of a shot) and a set of 1-3/4" HVMC QTP headers. You should have no problem hitting over 450rwhp even on the nitrous tune.

My vote would be ETP's 225 heads and have them CNC the chamber to the size you want with kooks 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 w/hvmc

Cory, Ive already told you the header to buy...The stepped 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 E-brocks with the slip on collectors. For the price, they simply can NOT be beat. You dont have to trim the K- memmber to get them to fit like you do with the KOOKS stuff...Heads are all up to you. Ive yet to see any good posts so far to help you though...
