well here's my situation. i had a stripped out hole in the block of my ta one of the short ones. well last night i got the tools and new insert for the block so i clean the hole out and got the tap in and cleaned the old threads out and cut the new threads in the block for the insert. well i had the insert just about all the way in and snap the installer broke in two pieces . i spent twenty min cleaning the hole out before i even attempted to install the new insert. my question is has anyone done this before and can i drill it out? also has anyone done the 1/2 in stud conversion on their LS1 before and if so how hard was it? also with the insert the head stud would not go all the way in like it suppose to. was i doing something wrong? i was turning the installer with a 10mm wrench so there wasn't alot of torque on there. has anyone ran into that problem before and if so what did you do to fis it. thanks in advance to all. any input would be greatly appreciated.
