Default Need Help WIth a Misfire

I just bought the car and on the 7 hour drive home it ran fine and didn't mis one time but had the SES light on the whole time, the first time it did it was the night i got it home (after the SES light turned off) home and since then it keeps happening, at around 2500RPM moslty in 3rd the tach and speedo with both begin to "bounce" the SES light will flash on a off quickly and the car with "buck" all at the same time.

The car is NOT tuned for WOT and the cruising tune that is on it know was done by an "expirienced" but not proffesional and I am wondering if maybe something could have changed in the tune during the 7 hour ride home?

I am going to be doing a Head/Cam swap soon and have the car dyno tuned by Rapid, but I would really like to know if anyone has any ideas on it now.

Thanks, Matt

My car did this twice, the first time I had a loose spark plug wire, the second time was a cracked spark plug.

a flashing SES light is a type a misfire, meant to tell you that its missing bad enough to destroy your cats. you got a miss in there somewhere, try plugs/wires, hell i've even had a plug try to back out of the head before

I dont have cats, WIll it destroy somthing else? The light doesn't really "flash" it just comes on momentarily when the mis happens for like a second and then will go off right away and stay off untill it missfires agian?

i second teh O2 sensor
scan em and see if there switching fast enough/ or at all
also check to see what cyl is missing the most and take the front O2 out of that bank and inspect it. Providing its not ignition or injector related.

If your dash functions "bounce" that would tell me batt. or other power/grounds are getting knocked loose...just a thought. good luck
