Patriot 243 or 035?

Patriot 243 or 035? I am looking for a pair of head for a H/C swap and i was looking at the patriot LS6 "style" 035 casting head, but when i called the guy recommended a LS1 243 casting which is also $300 cheaper and flows the same a .600 lift. I told him its for a DD that I am just trying to make as much streeable power out of as possble and will be buying a TR cam something like a 230/224
Anyone thats knowledgeable about heads have any input? should i go with the 035 or the 243 casting?

Both heads have same style runners and will have same ouput.
035 might be more beneficial where you require a small chamber (59 cc) without to much loss of PTV due to milling.
035 has welded chambers.
035 are also 6.0 castings and can be opened to larger bores.
For your application I would choose 243 stage 1 (stock valves) or if you want slightly bigger valves then 2.02/1.57.
The bigger valves might flow 4>5 cfm extra.
IMO Stage 1 with duals if TR230 cam and a thinner gasket for optimized quench.
Just decide on your cam so you can order the heads with proper size chambers (if any milling required).
DCR is more important than SCRso shoot for a 8.5 DCR.

If memory serves, we suggested the 2.00"/1.55" CNC ported LS6/LS2 casting for your set up. Predator is correct that the flow difference between the 2.00" and 2.02" valve will only be 2-5 cfm. For a DD setup, this would be a better choice. If you have anymore questions, please give us a call.
