Default I never realised that this could be so hard.

Trying to pick a cam for my car.

My car is an A4 with a 3500 TCI stall it has headers and exhaust also. I'm looking for something thats doing to get me in the mid 11s on motor and then work real good with the nitrous. I have been thinking about the MS3 but I am almost affraid that it might be a little to much for my converter.I think I have made up my mind and have setled on the TSP 233/239. I think this will work good.I think that the the shorter duration might be better for my 3500 converter. I could be totaly wrong on this so thats why im posting this. I dont drive the car that much and when I do its at the track or to cruise night so streetability is not a concern.
I know the MS3 works good and makes alot of power but do you think it would work with my combo?

Thanks
John

I would prefer a FM 13 high lift on a 112+2
Or a Comp LSK 228/232

PM GMmuscle in the eastern section, he runs the MS3 with a 3500 stall and runs 10.1 on the bottle with 2:73's

11's is not a problem. We run the same setup like your's with a baby lift 224 Cams into consistant 11's.

How do you want it to drive?
Also,as you know, bigger is never better

Thanks for the replies everyone.

spellbound I was looking into a cam like that but was affraid that I would end up going bigger when I decide to get heads.

predator Z Have you ever run that cam? if so what were the results?

Krazy I know he is one of the reasons I was eyeballing the MS3.

Slowhawk I don't really care how it drives. I only drive it when I feel the need to blow off some steam or to take my kids to cruise night. As you know I'm used to them small block Fords and these LS1s seem to like alot more cam timing (Better heads and more Ci?). Thats why Im afraid of going to small and then wanting "more" later on.I wish I was still working up there so I could have you tune it for me.

Too bad your not up here still.I would of worked with you on a Cam and maybe try a few to see what works best with your setup

When picking a Cam just focus on NA.Her is about what I'd pick for you.

232/236 .590/.590 on a 112+2. About 400-425rwhp ,375-390rwtq depending on how strong your engine is. In the future AFR 205's can go on with stock cc and .040 gaskets without cutting.

I agree that the Nitrous car up here is very fast BUT he is very, very light. The car pretty much has 4 tires and a race seat when he's at the track
