Default motor rebuild

i wonna do callies rods/mahle pistons in my ls1. I dont wonna buy shortblock etc... wonna kinda do this on a budget....anyone know any companies that i could send my motor 2 that would do this for me or am i sol?

You could get a short block from HPE for 2,599 you will have about that in having yours done.

i agree...im debating 408 or 383....in the long run its worth the $ and youll never worry about major problems!

It is $1000 more to go with a 408 over a stock cubed LS1. You will end up spending that $1000 trying to get the power levels you want out of the LS1. HPE is the way to go though, they do all their machining and building in house, as opposed to some other shops who send their stuff out.

im sure i can make decent power out of the stock cubes im not going ***** to the walls and spraying the crap out of it so i hopefully wont have any problems maybe 650rwhp on spray
