408 build help best place to build it ?????
408 build help best place to build it ????? I Wanna have a 408/402 built which one does everyone prefer. what would be the best set of heads and cam combo to go with. It might see a little street use but mainly track time with a lot of n20. And who would be the best place to deal with? Lookin for 500+ na 
There is a guy on here running a 415 ci HPE shortblock. It is LQ4 based so it has the iron block. He is running TEA stage 3 LS6 heads and a fast 90/90 setup. I'm not sure of his cam but I'm sure it is in the low 24x/25x 59x/6xx range. LSA??
With that setup he's running a NX direct port 200-500hp with a list of goodies from Nitro Dave. NA he is making around 550rwhp and over 475tq. Add 200hp and 200tq on his 200 shot and there ya go!
I would give HPE a call and they'll set you up. I will go to them for my motor build. I've seen a lot of guys run their motors with good success. They do all the machine work and building in house so if something messes up, they can't blame it on someone else!

HPE's machine work is not done in house anymore. Eric has started his own shop from what I've heard. Erik still does the machine work for HPE though.
Give SDPC a call. They have great prices and the place-Sunset Racecraft-who does their machine work is top notch. But wherever you go, make sure it's a reputable shop that has been around.

Verdad Gallardo I'd trust TSP's product. The only bad thing I have seen from them were the CNC Dart heads smoking issue. However, TSP handled the issue very well and made right with everyone and came out looking better than they did going in!
There are plenty of top notch sponsors here. Choose a couple, talk or visit with them tell them what your goal/budget is.
You should be happy with any of the above posted builders. Because this site has several well reputed sponsors, finding one located close shouldn't be too hard either.
