How long did it take you?
How long did it take you guys to do your head/cam/intake swap. I'm going to venture into mine in about 2 weeks and just wanna know what to expect.
I'll probably only be able to work on it about 3 hours a day after work. I'll be bustin my *** as long as needed on the weekends though.
Thanks

I am exactly half way done. Waiting on parts. Everything is pulled out and I think that the wife and I have logged about 10 hours. That was taking our time, writing stuff down, taking pics and videos, getting beers. STuff like that. Hope the install goes well. Good luck with yours. This is our first and we are loving it. Cant wait for that first crankup, assuming it starts. HEHE
Mine took 23.5 hours of work. It was my first time, but my buddies ump-teenth.
If you're going to work 3 hours a night, plus crank an all nighter on Friday or Saturday, you should be done in less than a week.
Good luck.

I just finshed installing my heads /cam setup and it took me about 15 hours. This was my 2nd time pulling the heads and the 3rd time for the cam so I was moving pretty quickly. I did take a lot of time making sure that all the head bolt holes were really clean and dry. I think you shouldnt have any troubles finishing in a week as long as you dont run into any problems.
I did mine by myself with about 24 hrs of work. Could have done alot faster but I didn't wanna make any mistakes. Do a serch on H/C install tips. I started a thread a couple weeks ago that would help you out.

I had mine apart in about 5 hours with the help of a friend. Putting it back together was a different story. I was given the wrong torque specs and cracked a rocker arm stud in the head (luckily I could get it out with pliers).
Taking it apart is easy. Just be careful when putting back together. Pay attention to detail. I had it apart and running in a weekend.

Your first time is always the hardest. I did my first cam swap in about 8 hours. Then forgot to put it in time! So did it again took about 2 hours. Just pulled it the other day with 3 guys helping and we did it in prob an hour! Weve took my buddies tranny motor and everything out prob 10 times now. We can get the whole motor tranny etc out with 3 of us working in 2 or 3 hours.
Kind of apples and oranges, 'cause a C5 you gotta pull the steering rack out, and a bunch of other BS that's not on a F-bod. I'm a first-timer, and kind of ****, and it took me three weekends, and several evenings of a couple of hours to finish, which I just did today. Results may vary, but anyway, good luck.
