Nice find. I think new covers are like $35, get a new cover, bolts and gasket and call it done.

Bought a new valve cover from GM,,,this ended my Oil leak,,,i had a JB Weld job that was seeping oil from the rear of the cover. its better now,,,,BUT,,,

heads up for you that may decide to purchase a valve cover from GM,,,,they look very shotty,,,blantent break points, very rough surface, not very impressed at all. I had the dealership order me another one,,(they were $120.00 for one side) it looked a lil better, but still very crappy quality compared to my old one. The part numbers have changed and the new ones are made in another country. Go figure.

yeah, I priced out some covers and it was 139.01 for L, 114.79 for the R, 9.89 x8 for the bolts, and 26.93 x2 for gaskets. $386.76 before tax for valve covers is why they are called the "STEALERship". BS!!!!!!

Glad you fixed your leak though....

I bought the GM Performance Parts valve covers...they were the ones that were on the LS7 crate motor that was on the cover of Hot Rod Magazine back in January. They have CHEVROLET and the bowtie on each one length wise..no pvc fittings or anything like that ... one side has the hole for adding oil ... I just use a puch in breather there and run the LS6 valley cover and LS6 pcv. I paid $102 a piece for them. Relocated my coils under the cowl and it looks real clean..a LS1\6\2\7 engine will clean up real good once you get ride of the coil pacs and stock vavle covers..
