Heads cam question
I was originally planning on a Speed Inc. SI007 cam with a set of Patriot Performance LS6 59CC heads (2.055int/1.57exh). I'm looking for a stock like idle with around 11:1 compression. This will be a daily driver (~15 to 20K miles a year) and I still need to run 93 octane. I would like any input anyone has on this combination or maybe another cam suggestion.
I also found some dyno numbers on an MTI Stealth 2 that showed a 28rwhp increase with full bolt-ons and found another thread with a 43rwhp for a Speed Inc. SI007 cam. After alot of reading it seemed as though the SI007 cam was only slightly noticed in a stock car while the MTI Stealth 2 was not noticed by most. I also considered the thunder racing cheater cam but the dyno numbers didn't impress me and it seemed as though customers noticed a difference in the idle. I don't want a lopey idle. I want a smooth, at most slightly lopier(sp?) than stock idle. I need to be able to carry on a cell phone conversation with the t-tops off and a full exhaust (no cats).
Will the PRC 5.3L Stage 2.5 'R' Ported Heads be a better choice over the PPLS6 heads for my combination?
Thanks in advance for the help and patience.
