How many times have you bounced off the revlimiter?
just curious how many times people have bounced off the revlimiters in ls1 cars and never broken anything, and if you did break something doing this what was it?

Hit it a couple of times but never mechanically overrevved it.
SLVR_99-Z...the rev limiter will not save you if you mechanically overev. What I mean is causing the engine to spin higher than redline by forcing it to do so via the drivetrain. For example, shifting 3-2 on the track/street at the top of the tach and forcing the engine to overev too high. This isn't like just slamming the gas in neutral and bouncing off the limiter. That'll save you a bit in that instance but in real life a mechanical overrev will never be helped by your limiter in the computer.

I bang the rev limiter more than a worn out screen door. (No, that's not what I was gonna put! )
I was having some shift point issues for a while and I was hitting it bad and often on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. I finally got them dialed in though so I only hit it when I spin really bad.

I hit mine ALOT. I dont have a working tach, stupid *** me. I paid for it by rebuilding my engine due to a spun rod bearing. I dont know it thats what caused it or the fact its a 98 block.

I missed a shift after taking my car out of the garage for the winter, and broke a pushrod completely in half, never seen that done before, good thing the stock push rods are so crappy or else I would have probably broken a valve.

I've hit the rev limiter twice in my car. Once before the cam, once after ... both times though the clutch was thrown in and I was off the gas before it actually "bounced" ... so I've never really bounced it off the limiter.

my tach is extremely slow. I have hit my limiter probably a couple hundred times. ****, i hit is last night, and today, thats what its there for. I just got my clutch in, and didn't realize how slow the tach is.
