Default Cam Install...

Hey guys I know push rods and timing set and springs are recommended but when buying the timing chain do I just need to buy the chain or should I buy the whole set? let me know thanks...

I'm thnking I'm going with the ls2 chain...so let me know what I need to do...cam specs...231/237 .598/.598 111+1

You just need to buy the timing chain. Unless you plan on advancing or retarding it. Or degreeing it in. Then you need an adjustable timing set.

How many miles do you have on the car? I would check the sprockets for any worned down teeth.

With an 99 I would also change the Oil Pump.

i was thinking the same thing, my cams a 114+4, i need an adjustable timing set to advance it +4 or is it already ground in and i just can upgrade the chain also?

It's already ground into the cam. Otherwise it would just be a 114lsa. Anything +x degrees is already ground into the cam. The reason you would need an adjustable if it was 114+2 and you wanted it +4. Then you just advance it 2*.

Springs:
Patriot Gold Duals Kit

Oil Pump:
LS6 Oil Pump

Timing Chain:
LS2 Timing Chain

Push Rods:
chromoly 7.400 (stock length)

Exhaust:
Hooker LTs, and magnaflow true duals.
