Forged 408, a good set of heads, nitrous grind cam, 150 shot, strange dana 60, stronger driveshaft, and a built T56.

Save a lot of money by doing the installs yourself. I have done a H/C three times now and I did it in 12 hours (only because I had a crappy valve spring compressor). If you want a DD just get reliable parts. Get yourself a nice 500 rwhp set up. If you have a built motor, tranny to match, and rearend. You won't have to worry about things going wrong that often. But stay around 500 hp. Anything more will start causing your problems and lose most of the daily driver aspect.

If you modify your only car you will be sorry. "back in the day" we did it & were on foot a lot of the time. Suggestion....if you have a note on the car pay that 1st.,buy a POS for work that's stock. You can then modify knowing it's your car,you can save for the best parts & you don't have a cc or bank loan to pay each month whether you have a job or not. I have a blown/427/C-5 but also have a pickup for everyday. After the 1st. car is pd. for, you will never borrow again. Freedom!!

This all depends really, on what you want to use it for and if you can do the work yourself. I think most of the ideas so far are too far fetched for the money.

This excludes shipping, tax and any labour. It also doesn't account for a 12 bolt or built tranny so you could easily add another $4k to the final figure. Doesn't leave a lot of cash left over for labour and there's still quite a few components absent such as forged internals, body mounted torque arm, new rims, tyres (DR's), electric water pump.

How about you invest it in the stock market, then come back after you have money to burn. Lets try that.

Bullet proof 402 from LME for starters. TFS heads, 90/90, custom cam, Kooks 1 7/8, 9" rear, Dual adj Koni's, LCA, PHB, TA,pro rate springs, Fikse's, Baer. That'll take care of your cash and you had better be doing most of the work yourself.

Buy a $2k beater, then figure out what you wan to do.

We have this thing called the Affordability-Reliability-Performance triangle. You can pick any 2 of them, but you loose the 3rd.

for 15 k you should be able to run 10s easily and be loud N/A or quieter with Turbo. But the point is 11s are achievable with 6 K, no nos.
