Cam Base Circle: Stock vs. Comp Custom Grinds
Here's the situation, I have need to find out my pushrod length soon so I can order them and get them here so I can finish my project. My custom cam from Comp won't be here until the end of the week. My question is, what is the difference in base circle between the stock cam, and a Comp custom ground cam? I'm thinking I can use my stock cam now to find my pushrod length, then add or subratact the difference in base circle diameter to get the right pushrod length with the custom cam. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Is it a XE-R/XE or other?
In general XE-R can have anywhere from .045 to over .050 effective radius difference depending on the lifts.
Calculations are guestimates and with a full built like yours the best way is to use a p-rod checker to measure.

I have an adjustable pushrod on the way, should be here tomarrow. But the cam won't be here for awhile. So I was wondering if I can use the stock cam to measure pushrod length, then add or subtract whatever to get the right length for the custom cam.
Intake lobe is an XE-R, exhaust lobe in an XE.

Just wait to you get you cam bro. So how does you cam look. Whats the specs.
Comp usually takes about 2 days to make custom cams. At least that is what Comp says.
I never had a custom cam done. Im a catalog type of guy. Until recently. Custom is the way to go.
