Default stock chain

i have an 02 ss, auto, i just put a cam in it similar to the ms3. do i need to put a different timing chain in it. say larger? the car is driven only on the weekends and about 2 weekends a month tops. also it has 30k miles on the car. im going to run some 918 springs and the heads are ported very mildly. will tthe stock chain hold up? what do you guys think. im asking becuase i just put the timing cover and pulley on with the stock chain which looked to be in excellant condition. but should i take it back off? and swap it out

If you want a stronger stock like chain the LS2 chain is good. If you want a heavy duty chain go with the rollmaster double row timing set. You can pick one up at SDPC.

Agreed, LS2 chain is a great replacement to the stocker. Also, like he said, defintely upgrade springs to at least the 918's, maybe even some entry level duals for peace of mind

918's will be close there good to .600 lift a set of duals would be ideal and not that much more. i believe the patriot ones really arnt that badly priced

i think i got my LS2 chain for like 29.95 from texas speed.

As for the springs, i run manley duals, and they have performed flawlessly in my car.
