start with long tube headers and a good flowing exhaust. If u drive a stick get a cluutch and a flywheel , if an auto get a good stall . also if your gearratio is 2.73 switch to 3.42 or 3.73 . free mods helps alot too. get a fast 90 combo setup for ur intake side if you r going for C/H very soon.

Honestly just read all you can on here and you will find out about all the little problems some mods have and all the benefits that others have. Read a ton before you buy anything so that down the road you dont kick yourself in the head for buying something stupid and useless when you didnt know any better. That is my suggestion and enjoy that car!!

I would go with longtubes and a full exhaust... How loud can you live with? What are your future plans with the car?

that totally depends on your goals, . . and your pocket, . . most people, (including me) have started out with simple boltons, lid and exhaust, start there, . . . .

Actually first read the stickies over in the External Section titled Induction and Exhuast Guide followed by the Cam Guide in the Internal section. We can sit here and tell you the best mod to do all day long. Just pick somewhere and start. Lid/Intake/Headers/Catback is a good starting block.

As for the question... Cang go wrong with intake and exhaust. While you get the basics, research what internals you want to do and how radical you feel like going. Build a good foundation first...
