Default Coolant temps

I just wanted to get some feedback from you guys.

I run AFR 205's, long tubes, no cats.... Electric water pump and 160 degree stat. I have the fan set to come on at 185 and off at 180.

In traffic and slow stop and go cruising I get temps in the 196 to 210 range. Once I am on the highway, I see nice and cool 175 to 185 ish.

I have the fan that Hinson sends with his kits and it is running as a pull fan.

I had Thunder Racing do a mail order tune and I am very, very pleased with it.

Any luck with that Water Wetter additive?

Are these normal temps for the mods? Any help/opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zach

those are pretty good temps. lower your fan settings more if you want to go cooler, mine are at around 160.

210 is what the engine is supposed to operate at. my stock tuned car will hit 230 in stop and go traffic. I have a scanner to validate this..not going by the gauge. I've never had a problem with detonation or anything of that sort. on the highway..its usually 185-195. if you want to go any lower..you could, but you might loose some mpg. I know when my t stat went out and was stuck open. my car would never really warm up to operation temp...it would hit 170 in stop and go..and usualyl be at 150 on the highway.. and I lost a lot of mpg because i don't think the car would leave closed loop.
