Default reasonable h/c package?

I'm about to put ls6 heads and an slp cam (.576" intake with 234 duration and .571" exhaust lift with 228 duration). In combination with kooks lt's and ory will this make around 400hp to the ground? Any comments/opinions are appreciated. Also, I am thinking of switching to afr heads when money is available.

my only question is why waste your money on a combo that will only bring you minimal gains?

Clost to 400 HP RW can be had with a cam only setup. Don't waiste your money on installing a set of stock LS6 heads. At least get them CNC'd, and your SLP cam... Honestly there are other more proven cams on the market. Make sure you do your research on here before you install anything...

First of all the slp cam was free and the ls6 heads were bought by my dad to kinda tide me over till i saved up for a good set of heads. I really dont want an extremely aggressive cam because it is a daily driver and until i'm looking for serious horsepower I dont need a bigger cam. Would the afr 225cc ls6 style heads be a good improvement or would another head be better? if so which ones?

another question is what made you choose that combination? true heads and cam setups truly match each other with flow of the heads vs lift and duration of the cam. Dont just throw parts together and wish for the best.

I went with my setup because Tony Mamo of AFR has done serious R&D and has proven that this combo works
