Default 427 Short Block

Where to buy an LS1 427 short block/long block? Or LS2 427?, to replace an LS1 motor?

How much would that cost?

Katech can build you one and you can get a factory ls7 short block from SDPC I believe. You might also want to check out the other sponsors here like HPE, TSP, etc as most can build you what you want.

Katech has their budget 427 short blocks out, they are very nice and affordable.

HPE did me right on my 454. Answered all my questions, hooked me up, and got back with me everytime I e-mailed or called. I can't say all that for some other sponsors.

You are right about some sponsers never responding to e-mails or even PM's. Never heared back from TSP since July regarding a quote for 408 long block.

How is that when you become a customer and in deep need for answers and feedback!!

I've also haven't had good service from TSP. It seems the only way to get answers from them is to flash some money.

I've got at least 4 proper estimates on proper letter head format from Erik at HPE in my files. He did those before I ever showed him a dollar. He took alot of time to put diffrent packages together as money became more avalibe to me.

I would go with a 402 or 408 so there does not have to be any resleaving.

If you've got the dough, the more cubes the better. However, i wouldn't stop at 427. For the same price you can have a 441.

how much more for a Lunati crank and rods, with JE Pistons instead of the Eagle brand you have listed? Just curious... Thanks.

The Lunati crank is another 500, I wouldn't recommend lunati rods, maybe a billet oliver would be nice, add 1000. Thats top of the line components. I also use Wiseco pistons with the 1/16 1/16 3/16 ring package for a bit more seal then a metric ring set.

Why not just use the Eagle 4.100" crank and keep the price the same? That's what I was refering to earlier. More cubes, but the crank costs the same.

Beast96z: Ok gotcha... But a 4.100 x 4.125 bore is a 438cube... This would cost a little more because a custom pistom will need to be made for the extra .100" of stroke, but not much, maybe 2-300 dollars. So it looks like this would cost right around $7100
