tr224 probably the best streetable daily driver but I hear that it's not much of a nitrous cam. You can always get more with a custum grind but why when you know that hundreds have this cam and if you don't care about lope you'll hit high 11's.

My headers are not the tyipcal 4-1 design. I had to make a 4-2-1 to fit my conversion, which compromised some of my exhaust flow. You will make more power with the full lengths. About 15-20 more then I did. Either way, it drives almost like stock, has 40-55 more rwhp across the board, and 50-60 rwtq more then before. My curve was pushed up everywhere, it just falls off about 300 rpm sooner. You can put more cam in it.....but again everythng is a trade off. I am running 3.23 rear gears and the power band works for my gearing and weigh of the car. Combination is the key!!!!!
Dude, you have to post pictures of that Miata!

Might want to check your sources. I made 538rwhp @ 570rwtq on top of my current setup with a NOS 5177 kit jetted for around a 100 shot. For a DD the TR224 is pretty good. I DD mine everyday. While it's a good cam I still would do a custom grind after playing with DCR, SCR and figuring the perfect valve events for the heads. Easy power to be had.

My TA M6 w/4.11's runs like stock with the MS4. GO as big as you want, just get a good tune (wouldnt try the MS4 with 3.42's though)

Okay. Lemme spill all the details and ask one final time!

!Air, !CAGS, Poly engine mount , poly trans mount, NGK TR55 spark Plus, Pacesetter LTs, TSP ORY, SLP LM1, SLP lid, K&N filter, smooth bellows, ram air mod, 224/224 TR cam, newer springs, and a tune, 3.42 gears stock 10 bolt posi, Nitto 555R 245/50 16R, M6, LS2 aluminum flywheel, LS7 clutch, B&M ripper shifter with H ****, ASP 25% underdrive pulley. Spohn Tubular , udjustable Poly LCA ( red)...

Can I get high 11s?!?!?!

With a lid and Nittos I got a 8.3 ( 4 times ina row) So I am not a bad driver.

and If that wont get me in high 11s then what will (Im talking about a cam)

( Note Im not changing my gear ratio yet, so dont suggest that)

I went with the TR227 becuase i wanted a little bigger than a 224 for my daily driver...700 miles a week. After realizing how well this cam drives i will be going a lot bigger this winter hopefully! I made 380 rwhp untuned. I love this cam, but i need more. Im looking at the G5X3, MS3, MS4, F13... Im not sure what i want yet.

If he went that low on a cam only then he has every bolt on in the world, that cam wont go that low on the strip.

streetable is all in the tune for most combinations. plenty of people run cams like the magic stick or F13 as daily drivers, and run perfectly. I wouldnt buy a 224 cam, IMO. too small, and doesnt feel much, if any real difference from a full bolt on car....

I haven't installed my 224/224 yet. I haven't put the motor and trans in the car yet eigther. My Z28 has a full tubular suspension, kooks LT's, going with a true dual setup, Vig 3600 stall, and a 9 inch with 3.90 gears. Of course it has all the other bolt ons and will be put on a diet to lighten it up. I think 11's will be easy on the DR's and I plan to hit it with a 150hp shot down the road. I will go bigger later as money allows. I have a 2 piece timing cover so cam changes will not be a big deal. We will see how it goes.

I just installed my new 224/224 110LSA. Lopes like a beast even at 850-900 idle range. It make damn good power. Although I did set it up with a nice set of ported/polished 5.3L heads.. I am definitely not disappointed. I am amazed at the power increase.

The 224/224 .563 114lsa is a real baby cam. It makes for a great daily driver and in hindsight I probably should have listened to the tuner/installer and gone larger....

Go dual valve springs and change them out every 20 K miles...

Don't go 23K miles....Don't go 24K miles....

Go 20K miles even with this mild cam.

Dual valve springs are an excellent choice with any aftermarket cam ...JMO esepcially in an everyday driver..

It'll save your @ss

Here's my .02. You have the stock 10 bolt and a 6 speed. To get into the 11s you are going to have to launch it hard and you will have to be running drag radials at least. Have people done it? Of course. The bigger cam you go the higher you'll have to launch. I have read many threads where people upgrade to a larger cam like T-Rex or MS4 and their ETs go up. That is because those cams do not have the low end of the smaller cams and you have to launch at ~5K to get it into the power band. How long will the 10 bolt last? I am running a MTI C1 cam (222/222, .568/.568, 112LSA) and I trap between 115-116.50 MPH. I have enough power to get into the 11s but worry about the rear end. Look at the cam Predator-Z suggested - he knows his stuff. Just don't go too big - a mistake a lot of people make.
