Don't go 23K miles....Don't go 24K miles....

Go 20K miles even with this mild cam.

Dual valve springs are an excellent choice with any aftermarket cam ...JMO esepcially in an everyday driver..

My stock valve springs have been with my stock cam for 80K miles. why do I have to change my upgraded springs every 20k miles with the 224 cam if it isnt such a beast?

Just get a set of 918's. Better safe than sorry. I had rather spend $125 than float a valve and lose a motor. It is good insurance.

I had the same questions, but the answer that I've received is that while the 224 isn't a beast, it's more of a beast than stock thus causing the springs to wear. Apparantly someone has not changed their springs and it has cost them a lot in the long run. Best advice, If you're not prepared to do your springs every 20k, then you'd be better off doing another type of horsepower adder. But then everything has it's own issues.

228/232 .588/.592 on a 110LSA +1. I have looked into this cam also. I have considered selling the TR224 to go with it. It seems to make good numbers. What stall was recomended with it? I have a Vig 32oo right now and will be running 3.90 gears.

Sounds like exactly what I want. I need somethign VERY tunable and drivable since my 1997 C5 is my daily driver for 40 mi a day (some in traffic). TR 224/224...anyone have results of that cam with some ported LS6 or CNC LS1 heads?
