I wish I knew. I suppose the least you might have to do is shim the springs and rockers a wee bit.

You'd have to be having a ton of lift to necessitate a longer valve like that. The wipe pattern would need to be checked, thats the indicator.

You also may be able to shim the rocker stand up some too.

Just need to adjust geometry (wipe test) and springs depend on cam specs

PSJ, I've got Absolute Speed 5.3L heads and if you recall Jay always used Rev Valves that were .080 or .100 longer. I have the 1.46 diameter Comp 978 springs which are the same as the 977's with just a little less seat pressure. Depending on cam size you have to be careful on the spring set up, I had to get custom titanium retainers made for the exhaust valves, when I went from a TR224/224 to a XER 228/230, if I remember correctly. Also coil bind is a potential problem if the cam is too big. Otherwise the 977's will work fine with the long valves. Jay for years set his heads up that way.
