for you guys with big-ish cams

my car sounds like its a really fast constant knock at idle but its coming from the valve covers, im runnin a 228/588 112+2 and my heads are loud as crap.... its clickity click but it sounds like it could get fatal but it never does, should it be that loud? it sounds like slappin in the valve cover like the space in the valve cover is echoing and making that aluminum knock... this is hard to say... yall know what im talkin about

sounds like xer lobes to me,they are an aggressive lobe and valvetrain noise is normal for that.If you worried then be sure you have the correct length pushrods and then maybe pull a valve cover and check your pushrods and rocker arms to be sure everything looks ok.Mine is not all that quite either

yes they are xer lobes, my buddy has a 236/236 cam and it sounds worse than mine does, it makes so much valvetrain noise it sounds like rod knock.... and i wouldnt single this noise down to just one rocker or spring because both sides of the motor sound exactly the same

yeah i wouldnt worry about it then.Thats one of the reasons i went with the xe lobes.

I used a 7.425 push-rod instead of the stock 7.400. This regained the preload lost with the cams .050 smaller base circle. Its works perfect if you have stock heads. I have comp XER lobes
