Default heads/cam setup!?!

hey guys. i am wanting to go with a heads/cam setup and i just dont know which would be the best? i am looking for around 480-490rwhp. is that even possible with just heads/cam? i have lt headers/cutouts/lid/tune and with the cutouts closed i was able to get 352hp/360/tq. now im ordering the gmmg catback and a new qtp y-pipe with the electric cutouts on it. if i were to get a big cam like the ms4 or trex and a good set of flowing heads and an aggressive tune, do you think i could achieve my goal? if not, what else would i need? any help would be good. thanx.

HUGE cam with lots of duration. You can see what my setup did 473rwhp 431 rwtq, using afr 205's milled to 59 cc and the G5X3 cam with a FAST 78 mm intake and all bolt ons. Plus Meziere ewp, and ASP ud pully.

I probably would've saw close to 500 rwhp with the G5X4 and a ported 90 mm FAST and a 90 mm TB.

Good luck bro.

I personally like Patrick G's setup, AFR 225 small bores, 224/228 on 110(?) LSA on LSK lobes, with ported 90 90 setup. I believe he put down 475hp 430tq, and only 6 degrees of overlap so it doesn't sound like a huge cam, good for street racing

thanks for the advice guys. i am planning to go with the ms4 or something like that. would this be comparable to the g5x4? i also like the afr 225's. if i were to port my ls1 intake would that be as efficient as a FAST 78 or 90? does the meziere ewp help that much with power?

500HP seems like a lot for what im am pressuming is a stokc shortblock? I know most people have been saying that 550 is about the limit for the stock LS! stock block.

Also Patrick G has a built Thunder Racing 347 Shortblock.

well i have a friend who has a sts turbo kit and his car made 478whp with only the turbo kit. everything else is stock, stock manifolds, y-pipe, internals, everything. his drives fine. also allngn_c5 has 473whp and his motor isnt messed up yet either. if i make right under 500whp, then i should be fine, hopefully.
