Default LS1/LS6 Head Gaskets

Well I'm struggling with this one.....I'm putting on LS2/LS6 243 castings on my '99. Do I buy head gaskets for the '99 block or the '04+ heads? They are definitely different part numbers....The older ones even have different part numbers for left and right. GM has a kit with two gaskets for the 97-01 and two different ones for 02-04 in their performance parts catalog.....

Just struggling with the decision.....

HELP!

Match gaskets to the heads, not the block

Thanks for all the replies. I've read some questionable things about the Cometic MLS gaskets.......Sooo I think it's the newer 12498544's for me!
