Question just some basic questions hopin for some answers

just wondering....does anyone recommend pcv removal and adding breathers? why or why not....also i am planning on taking EGR off of my car for a ls6 intake and some off road headers...this is definatly ok right? Also looking to get rid of that annoying whine and useless 3 miles of tubing by removing the A.I.R any comments on this? i am keeping this car as my daily driver, so i want to make sure i can do this withought killing my car. the only reason i want to remove pcv is to stop oil consumption and getting oil into everything and clogging it. Please inform me i am new to the ls1 motor so im not positive on what to do....thanks guys

PCV - there are differing opinions on how much of the "oil reversion" seen in the LS1 intake is from the PCV. I personally recoomend a catch can - you'll trap the oil but keep some vacuum in the engine which is better for keeping the pressure down, helps reduce oil seepage, better for the atmosphere and your car will smell less!
EGR - OK to remove
AIR is only there to make the cats work better sooner. If you remove the cats then it has no purpose.
You will need to get a tune, which you will want to do anyway, to remove the codes and mils for the EGR and AIR.
If your state has visual inspection or a sniffer test, none of these will pass so be sure to check that.

Switch over to the LS6 PCV and run an ebay catch can for cheap. Breathers greatly cut down your oil life becuase the fumes and contaminants are not evacuated and reburnt.

No, but it will remove considerable weight off the front of the car. Probably not worth it unless youve got a fairly serious race car.

Good call. I would only run a breather or crankcase evac on a "race car".
