i bought a jwis chain and it looked like elastic when i puled it off. i'd say don't go with a stock chain. why risk it over something so small.

While you are in there you may as well change it. Rollmaster double or a LS2 if money is tight.

When gomer and I put my cam in my old car it had 120k miles on it and it was in such good shape we left it in there. It was actually amazing on how good of a shape it was in.

yeah i have a new ls2 chain, but im not feeling like taking the pan down and all that. im going to throw forged pistons in it for a blower in about a year or so , i was just wondering cause it has to last me a year or tow.

Stock chain here. 31K miles on the shortblock and it's been cammed since 4K miles. If i'm ever in the area again I plan on throwing on an LS2 chain for added insurance.

ls2 in my ls1 here, got it for $35, and there is a big size diff between the ls1 and ls2 chain, i dont see the point in spending thousands of dollars to do work to these engines and put old used parts back in. just my 2c

I went with the LS2 timing chain.... I felt like I couldn't go wrong for $35, and the LS2 chain looks/is a lot stronger than the LS1 chain. Everything is already out of the way, it's so easy to change the chain... if the LS1 chain breaks then you'll have to take everything back out to replace it.

I thought the original question was who is running an LS1 chain with aftermarket "stronger" valve springs.
