New LSK lobes hard on valvetrain ?

Default New LSK lobes hard on valvetrain ?

Ive been debating on what cam to run, of course recently almost every vendor is starting to use the new LSK lobes which are high-lift....I know that that is going to give u more power under the curve and more torque down low for the bigger cams, but are they going to be as hard on the valvetrain as people are thinking, meaning, will peolpe have to change springs out often ?

I just ordered a cam with LSK lobes. I was told to check them at 15K miles. By the time that comes around, we'll know a lot more about spring life with these lobes. Since that will take me about two years, I'm not going to worry about it too much. When I bought my 918's a few years back, I was told the same thing about those.

maybe i should wait and see first, as of right now, my car is still my DD and i drive it hard.

When you start playing with your cam and springs, checking your springs should really become almost a yearly maintance. Throw some cash aside every month and when the time comes you'll be able to replace them if needed. You gotta pay to play...

I've been running LSK lobes (.653"lift) since July, 2005 (12k mile w/o a problem). I will check my PRC dual springs in the near future to see how they are hanging in there.

What made you go with the G5X4? I thought you had a custom grind made for your car. Did you decide not to run it?

So you sold one cam to get another with harder lobes than the first cam because you were unsure about spring life of a new lobe that was designed to be easier on springs than the XE-R/X4 cam you bought? Hmm...
