can't decide between two cams. HELP!

I'm going to get one of these two. They are both Comp. Cams..........228/230 @.050 571/573 lift 112LSA PT# 54-428-11 or this one....224/228 @.050 534/537 lift 112LSA PT# 54-418-11.......... Will the smaller cam have the lope that we all like? I figured you guys have heard about all the cams out there so what do you think. I have an M6 so I don't have to worry about a stall.

G'day there mate. The 228/230 that you have mentioned has higher valve lift - which suits the LS1 engines.

If you put the other (lower lift) cam in, you'd probably need to put in 1.8:1 rockers to bring the lift up, for the most performance gain.

Plenty of blokes over here have the 224/228 @112 .571/.573 in their Commodores and I've only heard good reports in daily driven cars. Good power/torque thru the rev range.

I'm running the 228/230-571/573, with Crane gold 1.8 rockers. Which puts it up around 610. I think it's a good setup with a nice flat torque curve. I was running the hotcam. The 228 cam feels about the same as far as the torque curve, but makes more torque. I put down like 380hp/380tq unlocked with a 3500 stall, full bolt ons and Patriot perimeter heads.

just my opion of course. dont mess with a 22x cam. had one made ok power but not what i wanted. anymore 22x cams are small. you can easily run a low 23x cam and idle just fine with a tune. so in short do a bit bigger and do it one time till you are ready to build a motor.

get the 2nd choice but get it in my specs. see sig. its a comp cam from AFR part number 6016. its a proven performer so theres no guessing if it will make power.
