It's not that hard to do if you have some free time, a helping hand (for a little bit of it) and all the right tools. Check out the link in my sig for my full input.

It is time consuming and labor is costly. Speed Inc does good work and has reasonable prices, in my experience.

If that includes parts, its very reasonable if it doesn't then i would do it myself.

I got quoted about 1k for a Cam, Springs, Rockers, Timing Chain and oil pump install with Dyno tunning at a local shop, if I supplied the fluids and all the parts so $1,200 including gaskets, front engine seal and fluids is an ok price. I ended up doing it myself, it still cost me a few hundred bucks because I needed to buy the tools to do the install (Good torque wrenches, Spring compressors, Cylinder fill tool, Pen Magnets, some sockets I needed, and Pizza and Pop for my helper). I followed the instructions in LS1Howto.com and took my time (3 partial days during a holiday weekend). Also an extra pair of hands helps a lot too. In all I'm glad I did, especially since I'm going to have to do it again (Long Story). In the end it was about the same cost wise all things considered but the practical knowledge and experience learned was as they say priceless.

I would really recommend you do it yourself. If you have the space and the time, it is very easy.

I did my Torquer V3, PRC Springs, LS6 pump, LS2 chain, Jethot LT's, and Mufflex ORY over the Labor Day weekend. It was as easy as everyone says it is. LS1HOWTO.com is a godsend. Follow that guide, ask questions around here, and take your time. There is nothing like the feeling of doing all the wok, turning the key, and being rewarded with a smooth running engine....well as smooth as the T3 is .

Good luck with your decision.
