help me ID this cam, possibly g5x2?
help me ID this cam, possibly g5x2? I pulled out the cam that came with my 98 vette ls1 motor. I'm trying to confirm if this is the stock cam or not. The only markings on it are on the flywheel end shown here:
Can anyone confirm if this is indeed a stock cam? The big x2 made me wonder if it might be a g5x2... I tried to measure lift and came up with a lobe that sticks out ~.280 beyond the base circle. Assuming a 1.7 rocker this results in 0.476 lift which seemed low even for stock...
Finally the head was using beehive springs with the small retainers. Can anyone confirm if the stock valve springs on a 98 vette ls1 do taper like this?
