cheatr valvetrain noise with headers
Anyone with cheatr and headers have a tapping sound from valvetrain. I have ls6 heads with dual springs. It's noticeable even with the hood closed.
I think that's just life, my friend. Headers will certainly amplify the valvetrain. Did you do lifters and pushrods when you installed the H/C? Are all the plugs nice and snug? How old are your wires and how many times have they been off/on? How's your oil pressure and level?

You will get valvetrain noice. These engines have a very noisy operation. Really the only thing you can do is mask the sound.
And yeah you will have to shift higher than 6K. If you have a clutch that sticks you really should make sure that your master cylinder is in check. Not the safest thing to have a malfunctioning drivetrain.
