Well, I've been running about 3/4 a can of SeaFoam in the oil for around 75 miles, & the noise is GONE. I'm going to leave it in there for another 100 miles or so, change the oil, & see if it comes back.
I hate to wake a dead thread but my car is tapping like that and I'm supposed to have 400 rwhp. It honestly feels like about 350 leading me to believe something is wrong with one of the cylinders. I can still outrun stock ls1's but I just don't pull like someone with an extra 80 horses. honestly there was a more sotp difference with my lid on the stock motor. What would cause a tapping and the loss of one cylinder but allows me to drive fine and get 22mpg.

I did that the same thing a couple of times after the H/C install. The valve noise was making me paranoid. I finally attributed it to normal valve train chatter.
I wish i could offer some advise on this but I'm a numnutz when it comes these issues
