Help me decide on a setup please
mods in sig, 98 camaro ss m6
69k miles on the ls1
motor is pretty much stock. Long tube headers, lid, basic bolt on stuff.
I have built the car to handle lots of power over the past few years and now I im ready to invest into the engine.
my budget is 15k. 700+ hp with nitrous would be Ideal if possible?
Any advise on where to start? go LS2 or keep my Ls1 ?
I appreciate any information thank you.

Wow 15K.....Youcould built a really stout 402ci or 408ci engine with that kinda money.
Start calling some sponsors and see what some of them say....For that kinda money you can go just about any direction....NA or FI....a good twin turbo set up would get you were ya want to be on a forged motor.......
Like they say, "Speed is just a matter of money, How fast ya wanna go?"

When you say you have built the car to handle a lot of power, how do you mean? Does this mean engine internals or what? Or just supporting mods like tranny, rear end, brakes and suspension?
It depends which route you want to go. Personally I'd stick with an aluminium block. TSP sell a 402ci based off a LS2. There are also 408ci cast iron block based of the LQ9. Both can be made to produce 500-550rwhp n/a with good heads and a decent cam. As long as it's forged internals then running a decent shot 150-200 will probably get you where you want.
I'm sure some clown will say buy a LS7 - but to me it seems an expensive route for only 500bhp.
FI could be a possibility, not sure on tuning issues with the 98 PCM and boost though. But a Procharger to turbo setup with a 402ci should see 700rwhp all day long and on 93 octane too.

I've been out of the loop for quite some time and see lots of new things, L92, Warhawk, resleeved LS2's ect ect. The LS2 402 with Dart heads and a large cam is what Im leaning towards now. dont want to skimp on the valvetrain or use an eagle crank, Callies seems better IMO and is made in USA. also would billet mains be something I Have to have with an LS2 pushing 700+ hp with nitrous? Im anxious to research what cam and head combos work best for my goal.
I appreciate the feedback guys and thanks for the compliment 00TAProject!
