Question Melling oil pump problems?

Has anyone experienced problems with Melling (LSx) oil pumps? Specifically the check valve sticking open or closed?

For increased power, while still keeping your car on a diet the VRE 382 is for you. Using an aluminum block instead of an iron block like its big brother the VRE 408, the VRE382 comes in 100lbs lighter. Featuring forged internals through out, the VRE 382 is ideal for power adder applications as well as naturally aspirated performance.
Melling high-volume oil pumps give you an additional 20 to 25 percent of much-needed oil volume for your performance application

I have had my Melling in for about 8 months now and have had absolutely no problems out of it. It took my oil pressure from a lousy 25psi at idle all the way to 45psi at idle and a good 65 at WOT.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not quite sure what you are getting at.

strange post, not to mention that isn't an LS1 pump. Gerator style but not an LS1.

i use mellings all the time, just don't leave the high pressure spring in them(red), i always remove the red and install the blue spring.
red spring=50+hot oil pressure(idle)
blue spring=40hot oil pressure(idle)

Why not just use the melling stock replacement instead of putting the stock pressure spring in? Its cheaper. What are the other differences? I am comparing the melling m295 pump.

the pump i am refering to is the MELLING #10296, is the high volume/high pressure pump, but the red spring that comes in that pump is way to much pressure, that's why i suggest to switch it out to the blue one.

Red is for strokers with forged internals.
