German Castrol 0W-30

German Castrol 0W-30

Anybody have any experience with this? I've been using Mobil 1 0W-40 since I got my car in March 05(at the reccomendation of Patman) but I found some GC 0W-30 at my local AutoZone. Would it be worth it to switch or not?

Search for it bud, seriously there are like 100 different threads on german castrol.
Most will tell you its the best oil for an LS1.

1st, search is broke.
2nd, everybody I've seen uses 5W-30.

Yeah, I just noticed search is down again, Im suprised that youve never seen any of the posts on german castrol, being here for 2 years.

Its thicker than a normal 30W
many people here swear by it, and will tell you to buy it if you can find it.
Personally, I don't think its going to "help" anything to buy it as long as you change your oil every 3000 M1 0w40 is just fine, thats what I use.

Like I said, I've seen tons of post on GC 5W-30 but nothing on 0W-30. That's why I asked. Didn't know if it'd be worth it or not(same price as M1).

i use 0w-30 GC, car runs great. make sure you get the stuff that's made in germany

Im pretty sure GC doesn't come in 5w30, all those posts you are thinking of are 0w30

GC is only in 0w-30

Got it here in buffalo at certain autozones (straight30W GC). I use it...works great...seemed to quiet down the valvetrain more than the Mobil1. Could be all in my head tho..

.49 cents cheaper than mobil1

I recommend using it if you can find it...

I have used it for a while now and it is a big improvement over castrol 5w30, but I can't comment on a comparison with Mobil 1 since mine came with Castrol from the factory (SLP).
