Default Opinion on Head/Cam choice.....

Trying to get a few more opinions....

Internal engine, my plan for my '99 LS1 is to keep the bottom end stock and go with the Texas Speed Torquer II Camshaft; 232/234 .595/.598 with 113 lobe seperation and use their PRC LS6 CNC Ported Heads; 2.00/1.55 with double springs upgrade.

What I'm looking for are opinions on torque convertor choice and what potential problems I would have with driveability or idling. What kind of power can I expect? This motor will also see chromemoly pushrods, GM LS2 timing chain, and ported LS6 oil pump. And I already have the LS6 intake that I'm going to use.

Sorry for posting this here, I tried in the newbie section but not too many people go in there.

Thanks

Well, my car is a M6, and I don't know a lot about converter choices, but you can see the numbers I made with similar cam and the same heads...

Mine's a full bolt on car, so if your's is along the same lines, you could expect power similar...

Of course you'll experience more drivetrain loss, but shouldn't be a whole lot...

Just keep in mind A4's do not like to go above the factory shift points without some internal mods to strengthen it. The dyno sheet TSP has on their site shows it peaking at 6400, meaning an ideal shift point might be 65000 - 6600. If you plan to take full advantage of the whole powerband, I'd budget for the tranny mods as well.

Perhaps getting it ground on a 112 LSA and installing a couple degrees advanced would bring the curve down a bit, peaking earlier and making full use of the powerband. As an alternative, look into cams that peak a bit earlier, with peak power from 5900-6100.
