Thats why you use the hose I rent out. It just screws in from any angle. I've done enough swaps and dont like hassles so I bought the best tools for the job and now I rent them out(have been for a while). Crane dual spring tool, JPR rods, air fitting hose, Comp Cam pushrod checker, and the pulley install tool as well as a pulley puller for aftermarket pulleys. The three screw kind. For $40 and shipping you can't do any better.
I've done all my swaps solo. Just me and a bungee cord.

Check out the Scorpions for $379. They come in 1.7 and 1.8 ratios. No guide plates required which means no hardened pushrods to buy. They're very stout. I just installed a set on a 04 Silverado. Easy to install. Non-adjustable. They use a "U" channel instead of the long pedestal. The "U" channel keeps the poly stands for the rocker from rotating so the roller tip stays over the valve.

Doin' mine with a guy who has experience. So TECHNICALLY i'm doing it myself, but basically he's going to show me the way.

I know i could do it solo, I just don't trust myself enough to do it all alone.
