Yes there's 4 on each side, 2 13mm nuts and two TORX bit bolts, however i'm drawing a blank at the moment on what size the torx bits are. I think it's a t-45 or t-50. Anyway, drop the k member a few inches then once they're unbolted, you should be able to pull the bolts out from the bottom with your hands (the bolts are attatched to the struts, but they go up through the hole). They SHOULD just fall out with the k member, but I do it this way so they dont get jammed cause they go in at an angle. Make sure you undo the steering shaft aswell!

They'll stay compressed, dont worry, those bolts just hold the whole assembly to the shock tower. As you pull down, the shock and spring will compress a small almount so you can release it from it's bolt holes, then it will just go back to the regular size when it's free. Just make sure when you put it back on you get those structs back in the hole before you bolt up the k-member, cause you'll never get them in at that point and you'll be unbolting the kmember again.

If you're having trouble with the a-arms then why dont you just unbolt where the shock meets the a-arm at the bottom and then the one bolt that mates the spindle to the upper control arm. Btw, I had to use a crowbar to pull the a-arms out far enough to drop it. The horizontal bolts you were talking about can be removed by turning the wheel all the way to the left or right just make sure to unbolt the tie rod end and move it up.

This would be good if he was removing the k member to replace it with chromoly, but hes taking it off to inspect before he pulls the motor out. He'll have to do it anyway, so it's better to just take it off as one piece, then put it back as one piece. Just easier IMO.

not sure why you would be pulling the whole strut out??? you can just disconnect the one bolt on the lower a arm. as far as the streering, leave that in two, just ply the rack out of the k member and let it hang from the motor with zip ties if nessary. also might sound dumb, but you did try pb blaster on the bolts right? Any way, all you need to do it break the streering tie rods off the wheel carriers, and lower ball joint off the a arm and then you have 6 bolts holding it in. remove the calipers and hang them from the inner fenders with zip ties, removing anything else is not nessary, get a poly mount while your in there.
