I'm thinking that an LSK lobed 224 intake and an XE-R lobed 228 exhaust would be a nice one. 110 +2 maybe?

Hi GreenBlood,

If for any reason you look for a camshaft and a valve event that is absolutely great for a DD with a lot of torque, a wide torque curve and a strong pic of power around 6400rpm for the performance side (carrying the curve to 6900rpm easy) with certainly the maximum admissible overlap without any kind of surging when cruising at 1100 rpm or stuck in traffic, also still friendly manners and reasonnable mileage and not requiring to flycut your piston's head I have a :

228/230 .639-.592 @ 112 LSA +0 ... int LSK lobe / exh XE-R lobe to sell with his cam card from THUNDER

Let me know

Where can I find the overlap, my state has emissions, and I am trying too see if the cam will pass...I read the sticky and it said the more negative the overlap, the more likely to pass...How do I find that?

According to the deep R&D from Tony Mamo @ AFR the biggest you can go if you are concerned by emissions would be a :

224/228 .581-.588 @ 114+1 on XE-R lobes which gives -2 of overlap at 0.050.

You can read some post where tuners are passing the sniffer with bigger overlap.

I thought that Il just scanned if the car is post 96? As long as it doesn't throw a code I think it should be fine. They don't use a sniffer on OBDII cars. Check with the Il epa.

See if this helps and good luck...

thanks chucky, yes, my truck had the OBDII test, where they just plug it in, so i am guessing the camaro would go through the same thing, I am pretty sure I need cats though because if it doesn'tpass, thats the first thing they look for. Anyone fro Illinois have a cammed car? What size is the cam, and do you pass? also, what is your exhaust setup?

I've got no cats and a '94. Even tho it's got OBDII they would only test it as a '94. (Sniffer). So.... The car is now under going extensive rebuilding and will not be available for testing until 9/08... Borrowed time, I guess.

thats one of the reasons I sold my 94...besides wanting a 4x4 for Michigan weather(still switching back to an LS1 thi summer, miss speed too much), it wouldn't pass...I had cats on it, but the long tube headers didn't have emissions equipment, it was gonna be too expensive at the time to fix, and then I would end up losing performance with what I wanted...But now I have money to spend on an LS1, so I am gonna do it the right way for performance, and emissions ability...

Sounds like the best way to go about it. I have six cars and the 94 see's maybe 1000 miles a year. Was kinda hoping it wouldn't get tagged since four of the others have been. Good luck with the cam.
