ls1 in place of v6

Yeah man.
I had a 00' V6. Loved it but wanted an LS1 like you. I ended up selling mine and getting the car I have now (sig).
Honestly? If you say you don't have $5k to throw into the swap or trade in vehicles... Then don't even think about swapping motors. Just yesterday I scanned ebay for LS1's with t-56's (just dreaming about swapping one into a 242 volvo in the future). You can't find a setup like that with less than 60k miles on it for less than $5-6k. That's just the motor, tranny and wire-harness.
I say sell your car and once you have the cash in hand, look for a base Z28. There's a few in the classified section of this forum going for $8 thousand right now. I can't believe it. A 98-99 Z28 with 30-70k clock for under 10,000 bucks is a steal, and they're all over the place!!!
Just my $.02
