If i do decide to get the 228R, What rpm would i shift at because i dont want to take it to high. I would like to shift at about 6500 maybe a little more but not much.

Check the dyno section. There are tons of graphs over there.

I don't think most people are making 400 cam only unless they have every conceivable bolt-on. As for 11's in a car with stock heads, I think one would need good tires, good clutch, and some driving skills. JM2C

11s will be tough. Going to need what was posted above (slicks, clutch, gears, skill, weight reduction) and then it might hold together for a while in the 11s.
400RWHP should be easy. I made 388 with out the ported TB and cutout I have now. The HP curve starts to level off at 6000 through 6500. I have shifted at 6100 and 6400 and it has hardly made a difference in my ETs. Of course I have had my highest mph shifting at 6400.

I think cam only and full bolt ons. 11s is acheievable. ll you need is to get some Street drag radials . Get at least a 1.8 60' and with that cam 11s can be done. if not get 1.7 60's and it will!!!
