10k in debt? I dont have a car payment on the camaro, just my gas getter. I was thinking maybe throwing 3k on the card. its just i have this card with no balance aching for some attention
just pick up a card with 0% interest for a year or whatever....and spend some dough...and go on with life, just pay it off, be mature and PAY IT OFF before the yesr is up!!
My rule is save at least half in Cash....then put some on card..that way your not 100% in debt...ya know

I've spent just over 5K over the past few months collecting parts for my H/C and A4-M6 swap. Still have to tune it and finish up the exhaust.. another 500 bucks bites the dust... Paid out of pocket, only debt is the 3K i still owe on the car.. should be paid off by jan..
I "do not" pay for aftermarket parts with credit. The only debt I have is whats left on the car payment, and I plan to take that out next year.
I follow the same philosophy for just about everything else...(ex. electronics).

Bought car in cash, mod in cash.
so I have no cash
Modding is what I do once all other things are covered, inculding other hobbies.
Needless to say with me thats not much money to start once it trickels down to mod funds we are talking pennies to the dollar. I still think I do pretty well, spend a ton of time researching so I never end up unhappy or replaceing things. I still have a very long want list, but just remembered what I have now makes me feel good.

Credit card debt... Yes, that shiney new card is tempting. Think about a few things first. Are you disciplined enough to pay if off right away? Will the mods that you think you have to have now satisfy you three months after they are done (hint: answer is NO!). Look around and ask your parents, friends, family or whoever about credit card debt and whether or not it was worth it. The interest is a f-ing rip off. The first time or two you miss a payment (and it happens to everyone), your low interest card goes from single digits to 25%.
Been through that and wouldn't do it again. There's a lot more to this story by I don't imagine anyone wants a sermon on the subject. Take it for what it's worth. Zero credit card debt for me.

guy I bought my car from paid $34,000 for it new, he paid GM for 7 years .once he paid it off I came along and snagged it for 13,000 LET THE MODDING BEGIN
Go for it
like said above be early on your payments and pay with large stacks not the minimum. In return your limit will increase

Yeah I have about 10k in upgrades and about $2000 of it in card debt but mostly once I save up for an upgrade I break something else and then forced to card for the repairs. Now I'm trying to budget build a new motor and it sucks to look at the car outside without the motor in it, pay check to pay check for the motor parts sucks. You have to pay to play.
The wife and I knew that I wanted an F-body, so we saved until I had enough cash to buy it straight up. Paid in full the day I bought it.
All mods are planned in advance and money saved up to buy them before the purchase. Paid in full the day I buy them.
See the pattern?

Paid my car off this spring, paid for everything in cash. Actually, I used a friend's credit card and paid him in cash.
I only have a low limit credit card for emergencies. I bought the exhaust, headers, intake, and the head and cam kit on the floor when I had the cash.
Currently waiting for VFN to finish my Sunoco hood, and already have almost all the money for the TTm rims.
I hold back about 100-200 a week from my checks and put it in my "fun fund" which is basicly just the car.
