Default installing a ls6 to a 98 m6

i can maybe get a ls6 for a fair price. less than it would cot me to repair my ls1,

how hard is it to install? can i use the orginal ignition system? engine module? is it just plug and play?

The stuff should fit either way. LSX platforms are for the most part interchangeable.

Sucks. you should just do a rebuild on it...It would be cheaper to go forged bottom end with new bearings.

the eagle stroker kit that i want costs 2690 @ byunspeed, and the rest of the stuff i want for the motor is at least another 1500,
and i live in iceland so the price is double when it arrives to me

i can get a ls6 motor from a z06 for 2500$. thats not all the hp's that i want but the price is just so much lower and less work for me to do,
and the ls6 motor a better motor to build on after that?

and than i can also sell my oem ls1 motor,

that is what i was thinkin,

sorry about my english, i read better than i wride

I would do the stroker kit to the 382 CID or the forged 347 kit. But if you can get a full motor for cheap do it.

This is off topic, but is there a stone in Iceland that people go to and see if they can lift it off the ground? I have a friend I work with and his wife is from iceland. Her father took them to this stone somewhere on the West side of the island and had him try and lift it. they all laughed at him. Have you heard of this said stone? Apparently it is something that the fishermen of Iceland take pride in being able to lift.

Yes it will work been there done that, I have a 2002 405 HP LS6 in my car the only thing is you will need to pull the rev limiter up if you want max performance and pull either 1 or 2 degrees of timing out or send your computer off and have it tuned. Good Luck.

that could be a problem hafe the computer tuned because i would hafe to send it from iceland to the us,

but that sound well! i am realy into buying this motor if the guy that is selling is a honest seller,

how much revs the ls6 over the ls1?

i would hafe to buy a intake manifold and rocker arms on it, what would be the best intake/TB combo in it? and a cam with it

I shifted mine at 6500 and those motors make there power up into the 6000-65000 RPM Range.

Well, I'm bumping this for you, but I have no idea if any engine rebuilders with LSx experience are near you. It may be cheaper to get a refresh with new bearings then spend the money on performance parts

thank you,

i am gettin the ls6 long block for about the same prize and the eagle stroker kit costs, and there is another motor for 700$ more that is ready to start, and isint the ls6 a better motor to build on? better heads? stronger block? what i wanted whas maybe a ls6 with a good cam, meybe fast TB and intake, and roller rockers, that should be enough hp's for me with full exhaust, and hopefully more,

LS6 has better heads, basicly the same strength block. A good cam would really wake it up. Your mod list looks pretty good and effective. Just be sure to get the 90mm fast intake if you get one, the 78 is roughly equivalent to the LS6 manifold already on there.
