Default 2001 LS6 engine - collecting dust

I have an '01 LS6 crate motor thats just been sitting for years. It is a brand new complete engine with intake, throttle body, plugs, and all. It's never been fired, not even once. I was thinking it should still be ready to rock as good as ever. Any ideas on this? Maybe the front and real seals might need to be replaced before going into service? Do ya'll think I'll run into any problems bringing this thing to life, since it just been sitting around forever?

If it has been packaged properly in a humid free area, no issues if you hand prime it first.
If open to the elements, I would tear down top end and inspect.

It hasn't really been covered. Its actually just been sitting in a project car for that long. Heads and intake have never been off and plugs have never even been pulled. So you think there is a chance of rust in the cylinders? What about the seals?

Thanks

I forgot to add that tape has been covering the exhaust and waterpump ports.

as long as it rotates freely I would prime it change the oil and run it. it should be good to go.

just check in the plug holes with a good rifle bore flashlight. That will tell you REAL quick what its condition is. Go ahead and change the rear seal just for the hell of it and let her eat.

Yeah, I definitely think it would be smart to pop in a new rear seal. What about the valve seals?
