MTI Pulleys? Are they good?
and is it better to go with crank and underdrives or just the crank...this is one of the mods I haven't done yet... <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">
Its worth about a tenth and 1 mph at the track, so basically a carlength. That equates to around 8 rwhp across the rpm range for the most part.
My car has had one of these pulleys on it for about 65K miles and has never had any charging issues. Its a good mod!

<strong>The MTI pulley (crank only) is manufactured by ASP, who is also here in the Houston area.

Hey Tony,
I wanted to ask you about this actually. I bought the MTI pulley when I thought my Whisper pulley was the culprit in my belt throwing issues. when I got the MTI I couldn't believe it, so I took it out to the car, got underneath, and voila! It's the exact same pulley, even down the the exact shade of red.
Did ASP make the Whisper pulleys too?
Thanks alot,

<strong>I have MTI's crank pulley, and it's great. I showed a gain of 5 RWHP with it through my A4, but it's definitely worth .1 in the 1/4. It allows the engine to spin up faster than it did w/ the stock crank pulley. It's well worth the money.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Trevor, do you still have a stock idle? I’d consider this mod, but I was afraid that with our A4s ridiculously slow idle speeds of 500 to 550 that it might cause charging problems. Do you still have a stock idle with this pulley without any issues? And, do you have to use a new belt? How hard was it to remove the stocker? Any special tools needed? Sorry for all the questions, but I’m running out of simple mods to do, so I thought I’d start learning about this one.
